What just happened?

Refund scams reverse the psychology: instead of scaring you, they give you "good news" (you're getting money back!). Then they get you on the phone and coach you into installing remote-access software (AnyDesk, TeamViewer, UltraViewer). Once inside, they open your banking app, "help" you enter the refund amount, but trick you into entering an extra zero or two — or they simply initiate an outgoing transfer while you watch a fake progress bar. Classic targets: elderly people. Losses per victim often in the tens of thousands.
